Patient help
Frequently asked questions
Practical answers for patients booking online specialist care with ASV Clinic in Ghana.
Booking and appointments
How do I book a specialist consultation?
Choose a specialist through the patient portal, select an available service and time, and complete payment. You can also contact ASV Clinic if you are unsure which specialist to choose.
Can I choose my own specialist?
Yes. You can view available specialists and choose the doctor and appointment time that suit you.
How soon can I be seen?
Availability varies by specialist. The patient portal shows current appointment times, while secure text consultations receive a response within 48 hours.
Can I book for my child or another dependant?
Yes. A primary account holder can create and manage a separate dependant profile for a child or family member.
Video, text and in-person care
What do I need for a video consultation?
Use a phone, tablet or computer with a camera, microphone and reliable internet. Join from a quiet, private place and have your medicines and relevant results nearby.
What is a text consultation for?
Secure text consultation is suitable for non-urgent questions, selected follow-ups, medication clarification and sharing photos or results. It is not an emergency service.
Can ASV Clinic arrange an in-person visit?
Yes. When an examination, procedure or facility-based test is needed, the care team can help coordinate an appropriate in-person appointment.
Can I get a second opinion?
Yes. Upload the reports, scans or results available to you and book the relevant specialist. The doctor will explain their assessment and any recommended next steps.
Fees, payment and cover
How much does a consultation cost?
Current pay-as-you-go prices are shown on the Pricing page. Text consultations start at GHS 100, with scheduled video options available.
How can I pay?
ASV Clinic accepts card payments and Mobile Money from Ghanaian networks through the patient platform.
Can I use insurance, NHIS or employer benefits?
Coverage depends on your insurer, employer or programme. Contact ASV Clinic before booking so the team can confirm whether your arrangement is supported.
Will I receive a receipt?
Payments made through the patient platform are recorded in your account with an itemised transaction history.
Prescriptions, tests and records
Can the specialist issue a prescription?
A specialist may issue an electronic prescription when it is clinically appropriate. Some medicines or circumstances may require an in-person assessment.
Can the doctor request laboratory tests?
Yes. The specialist can provide an electronic laboratory request when tests are needed and review the results at follow-up.
How do prescription refills work?
Book a follow-up or suitable text consultation and provide your current prescription and relevant monitoring results. A refill is issued only after the clinician confirms it is safe and appropriate.
Can I request a medical report?
Active members can request an electronic medical report. The current fee and service details are listed on the Pricing page.
Privacy and urgent care
Is my health information private?
ASV Clinic uses a secure patient platform and limits record access to authorised care-team members. Do not send confidential medical information through public social-media messages.
Are consultations recorded?
Video consultations are not to be recorded by patients. Review the Terms and Privacy Policy for the rules governing sessions and health records.
What should I do in an emergency?
Do not wait for an online appointment. Go to the nearest emergency department or contact local emergency services for severe chest pain, severe breathing difficulty, heavy bleeding, a seizure, loss of consciousness or signs of stroke.
What if the internet connection fails?
Check your data connection, camera and microphone before the appointment. If the session cannot continue, contact ASV Clinic promptly for help with the next step.
